psychedelics in general deplete the fuck out of your serotonin post-trip, and SSRIs don't actually cause your brain to produce more serotonin, they cause what is produced to stay active for longer periods to increase their effectiveness. but if your levels are depleted, it's like wringing a dry sponge, except the sponge is your brain and the water (or absence thereof) represents joy and your will to live.
