>>106248342>Never happened.Yes you did. You claimed that people develop their empathy simply by reading. I can tell you right now that no matter how many books a psychopath reads, they are biologically predisposed to not have empathy to begin with. Psychopaths cannot learn how to smile or cringe or grimace without other people showing it to them, as opposed to blocks of text. Again, I have plenty more other examples proving you wrong on this.
>>106248369>you are making an efficiency claim.Nope. I never said nor implied it to be an efficiency claim. Some people literally cannot learn from reading blocks of text alone. How would you know what Red is if you've never seen a picture of it? (as an example). Books can make a rough estimate of what something, somewhere or someone looks like, but it cannot make it as accurate as a video. Some people literally cannot learn a concept without audiovisual cues, and for others, even if they could absorb a certain concept like a sponge through blocks of text, that doesn't necessarily translate to being able to learn other concepts the same way.
Your entire claim is a fallacy or guesswork, and I wouldn't be surprised if that's what some unchallenged book author told you. I'm literally giving and telling you practical examples that had happened before and CAN be proven to have happened before
