The Vtubers being the most entitled, unprofessional fuck-ups which you've basically covered.
Freelance artists that ghost for god knows how long with every excuse under the sun as to why they can't get a project past the finish line when any professional could get the same work done well within a week.
If they claim mental illness or whatever, you can't press them because it's hard to disprove and just makes you look like an asshole, which then gets you on the blacklists.
A lot of these freelancers are genuinely the kind of person that NEEDS someone breathing down their necks on the regular to MAKE them work the job they were PAID to do.
In the Vtubing space at least, it feels like these kinds of issues (and more!) only got exponentially worse since the end of the pandemic.
Hiring these artists is like playing Russian roulette with your project, except 4 of the 6 chambers are fucking loaded.
