Thinking about it, I like the streams and them singing, but I don’t think I pay too much attention to things like the concerts or the materialistic aspect of idol culture (I’m a poorfag anyway)
That said, when having in consideration how vtubers like your typical Twitch streamers can be, I suppose I kind of appreciate some of the purityfaggotry that comes with the idol stuff; I like my “yab” moments but I don’t want full blown degeneracy

The idol culture they emulate helps establish parasocial relationships and normalizes behavior on both sides that helps prevent negative emotions on both the part of the idol and the audience member.
I also, as a general rule of thumb, think streamers that focus on building a dedicated following that aren't complete simpering sycophants in EVERY capacity(and purityfaggotry makes sure there's at least one audience expectation at the bare minimum). The fandoms around them are usually better. People are less retarded in them. I'm less likely to feel like an outcast for actually giving a fuck.
