>>106891251Anon Saba's been out for ages without a second merch drop, and the only merch drops Nimi's ever done was her debut and anniversary, and the anni one was basically just rereleasing the plushie.
They don't care about merchandising. If you wanna see merchandising (and just someone taking the job seriously in general) you can compare the ex-holo's businesses to Doki.
In 2 years, Doki's put out
>several acrylic standees and full on dioramas>several wall scrolls>several small items with art on it ranging from holographic tickets to chinese new years red pocket envelopes>a Youtooz statue>a goddamn nendoroid (with talks for a second)>a goodsmile plush>a larger retro plush>a custom HYTE pc case and keycap set>a goddamn nendoroid>two themed beanies>a happi>a hot dog themed shirt for your pet>goddamn croc jibbitz>a fucking christmas sweater>a deskmat>a patch >several shirts and acrylic merchandise related to the FantomeThief concert >a cooking set featuring a fucking damascus custom made chef knife (with ironsights), a maple cutting board shaped like a dragoon, and a bento lunchbo>a PS5 controller from one of Japan's biggest gaming gear companies>multiple voice packs >several clothing drops with JeanaDraws. That's the kind of output I'd expect from an ex-corpo vtuber still taking the vtuber job seriously, especially since she takes all of that money and puts it into visible, high quality projects like concerts, 3D assets, art commissions, music videos (she's leveled up from bad singer to mediocre; she's trying), animations, clippers, paid mods, and events involving dozens of participants and staff.
The ex-holos are retired and no longer expect vtubing to be a major income source.
