Youtube in particular made changes to make gift subs go to a tier closest to $5 if I remember right, because people were making cheap tiers to weed out gifties from Proper Members Streams instead of just giving them access to emotes, which is what most use the cheapest tier for.
Not sure why because at the end of the day, you should never say anything in a members stream that you expect to keep quiet - those dedicated members are just as much a stranger to you as a random ass gift sub. Even if every member in your member tier doxxed themselves to you to "prove loyalty", you'll still never know who leaked a clip from a members stream so it's utterly pointless.
It's the same delusion that "Private Trackers" for torrents give seem to give a lot of people - a false sense of security. Or likewise a Discord - the login-based nature of Discord for some reason makes peoples brains switch off and become retards and say unhinged shit because "you can't view it without being logged in", ignoring all the, y'know, actually logged in people!
