In the case of Mumei, I'm inclined to believe that she did actually think about not coming back. But she just naturally missed the attention that comes with streaming or any form of content creation, even though she's probably not in a position where can fully commit to it yet.

Not yet, but considering every other talent who left Hololive in 2024 (and the first 6 months of 2025) had an indie vtuber debut it's a safe bet that Mumei will eventually do the same thing. Kanata does seem to be leaving the vtuber industry but it's noticeable that of 10 talents who recently left Hololive she might be the only talent that will never be an indie vtuber.
