For one, saying that phase was "better off than t hem" depends how you define "phase."
Because you're quite literally comparing the absolute top of phase to the "bottom" of holo.
For example, Nasa is quite literally a founding member. She has 34,000 subs and her streams get less views than even NijiEN. Iori, Muyu, Runie? You could easily argue they're doing okay as streamers, but claiming that phase is making everyone "better off than them" is absurd.
On top of that, Phase didn't even build itself from nothing. They were riding off of HoloEN's coattails with the warchest of a cryptobro.
Meanwhile, notShiori actually grew from zero. HoloEN wasn't even a thing and nobody outside of the most hardcore weebs even knew what a vtuber was.
And her old channel STILL has more subs than even Pippa despite being dead for nearly half a decade.
