>>107393199>You pretty much ignore whenever EN does one exactly like this (see spelling bee). The AmeSame spelling bee event had little going for it. It had no real gimmicks to make it interesting.
While there were some enjoyable moments here and there due to some talents' natural humor, it generally felt awkward and unpersonal due to the sheer number of participants.
Not to mention, the chemistry between participants is usually much weaker in EN than in JP.
>I'm tired of all these weebs that like to pretend that jp holos are the peak of modern humor Humor relies on context, which Hololive gives us.
We know their personalities, we know how they think, we know their dynamics, we know how they act and we know everything else about the environment. All of this makes Hololive superb.
Compared to any other format, the best comedian in the world would do better as a Hololive vtuber than as a stand-up comedian or in an anime, simply because everything is as set-up as it gets.
So if we have Comedian A (Stand-Up Comedian) and Comedian H (Hololive),
'H' has 40 Funny Points.
'A' has 60 Funny Points.
But Hololive's environment gives +25 extra FPs, so we're at 65 (H) vs. 60 (A).
It's the same reason jokes are funnier when you're bantering with your friends than if you're watching a show.
