>>107536904Thanks.I take it that today that many of the 3D model types are capable today of equal fidelity / aesthetic viability for "2D-like" character designs? That artist does seem to do nice work. If there are many others doing similar levels of work, I expect it to grow the way I thought it would have years ago. I'll have to look around to see those with male avatar design and rigging experience; I'd rather like to get back into it again, perhaps.
>network effect/first mover + collabs with artist partners for new outfits and event designs With the exception of those who are professional VT / streamers and thus can eat the cost (or those on the other end who have an artist friend who is both good enough to be willing to create something you want to use, yet is looking for exposure/portfolio or doing it as a favor enough to offer it cheap/free), I imagine it must be expensive to be able to commission that kind of stuff whenever you want to make even a relatively small change or addition like a new outfit or accessory. I thought this would be an area that 3D / VRM models have a significant advantage in the comparative ease to add such items.
So if someone was looking into creating a new anime style avatar (as masculine adult male) is there a perception to strongly choose one or the other either technically or aesthetically? I'd first lean toward 3D from my admittedly outdated personal experience comparison, as you mention mention that it is experiencing a resurgence for all the reasons discussed and that aesthetics/designs are now seen as equally viable, but if there are good reasons to look more deeply into Live2D again I'd give it an equal appraisal as I imagine it too has evolved.
