>>10781294So, Gura's growth is backed by a few factors
-Right at the COVID lockdowns, everyone and their mother trapped inside watching (All HoloEN boosted)
-"A" tweet + Singing "Ride on Time" on her debut and nailing it had everyone hyped for how well her Karaoke would do
-She nails her Karaoke, shows she's a skilled Rhythm gamer with her Muse Dash stream
-She's a good entertainer. She's been at the whole YT business for over 8+ years between HER and *REDACTED*, clearly developing a very good sense of comedic timing and very clippable moments, leading her to getting clipped the most and further pushed by the YT Algo.
-Her Design is YT algo friendly. Being small, cute, and non-sexual in nature, YT likely favors this heavily over the more sexual design of her genmates. A small factor, but each and every weight you add to the algo means you're more and more likely to blow up
-Last but not least, The YT Algo. Thanks to being clipped the most, having a wide variety of interested people checking her out (Cute girl screams at horror games, Cute girl singing, Cute girl being funny with quips and getting rekt by her own 'bad' timing, Cute girl has Rhythm gamer cred) resulted in YT pushing Gura, and gura specifically, into the eyeballs of way way more people. This then snowballs into more people subbing and watching -> Algo likes that and continues to push it -> Etc.
Gura is what happens when you get extremely lucky, and back that luck up with substantial talent. We're not likely to ever get a v-tuber that blows up quite Gura again, not unless some very significant meta changes happen to v-tubing and the entire market gets upended in some way.
