>>10762177Collabs are literally the best content Hololive has to offer. It's why most people like Hololive. Cover is incompetent as shit. What sets Hololive apart is the interactions between the talents and how they all seem to genuinely like each other.
2D avatars? Yeah some of them are great, but some of them are terrible. There are other companies and even indies with better models and rigs.
3D concerts? Cover's 3D isn't even the best in the business, and in some aspects it is laughably behind, especially considering their place in the industry. Their tracking, clipping, and motion range from good to okay to painfully mediocre (Marine doesn't actually walk like that, look when she and Korone swapped models, it's partly the rigging).
Songs? Cover's not the only one who does singing Vtubers, they have some of the best sure, but they are by no means an island.
Stream content? They can't get permissions for a ton of games other companies have no problems playing. And many Holos default to shit like Apex and Minecraft
What sets Hololive apart is the tee tee moments, the chemistry, the banter and adoration the talents seem to have for each other. It's fun to watch your oshi interact with her friends and make new ones. Watching her have a good time is a good time.
That's not to say that EVERY stream should be a collab or that there aren't Holos that prefer solo content. But overall Hololive does give off that big family vibe and watching the new Council mesh with each other and Myth, while Myth simultaneously comes into their own as snepai, all while promising future JP collabs, is really exciting and fun for most people. And right now the race is on to build stuff for the portal opening. Afterwards, I am sure stuff will die down.
Again. There's nothing wrong with solo content and often times I prefer a smaller, more intimate stream with my oshi. But those are many and often, good collab chemistry is few and far between. Collabs take extra work and consideration to set up, and oftentimes the girls can get stressed out feeling they have to perform or be "on". Seeing them just chill and shoot the shit informally in Minecraft with no pressure is some of the best content Hololive, and Vtubing as a whole, has to offer.
Unless you're a whore like Ayame, who doesn't care about others or Hololive as a whole.
Sorry couldn't resist. Just kidding.
