>>10811599Want to clarify I like them both, still watch them both. Been a viewer of ASMR and Vtubers since the stone age. Just find this situation interesting because they're two of my favorites.
>Shadow starts making ASMR videos in (late?) 2017. She's 15 years old at this time(confirmed through old youtube streams)>She's doing lots of edgy yandere shit, later goes on to nuke it because she's not happy with the quality.>Late 2018 in comes Lemonleaf. Lily starts making similar videos. Confirms in a Twitch stream and even during their collab stream (?) that the reason she started making ASMR was because Eddy showed her Shadow's channel. She only knew about ASMR a few months prior to creating it, Shadow says she's been watching since 2015ish.>On Lily's first or second video Shadow comments and gives her support. She didn't have many subs at the time, less than 1k for sure.>Lemonleaf is totally smitten, obviously wants to get closer to Shadow. Drew her some art in an attempt, Shadow is a socially awkward retard and is terrified of getting close to anyone. At this point Lily is already close to lots of other VAs in the community (Vividly, Gemini etc) but Shadow is close to nobody despite being there a year longer.>Something happens eventually and the two are incredibly close by early 2020, talking inseparable. Shadow still hasn't seemed to have gotten closer to anyone but Lily so I imagine they had a close friendship, just from their interactions and love for each other.>Mid 2020 Lily starts Vtubing, Shadow has talked about Hololive in a lot of past streams as far back as 2018 or 2019 so unsure if Lemonleaf decided to start through Shadow.>By early 2021 Shadow is talking to a few more VAs and seems to have gotten closer to others a bit more, but still seems very clingy with Lily. Lily reacts pretty similarly so I imagine the two were best friends, lots of ship memes etc, their communities were super closely interlocked. It's hard to imagine them as anything else.>Suddenly around May they completely stop talking to each other on social media. (They were interacting CONSTANTLY so it was very noticeable.)>Lily goes on hiatus, Shadow is sadposting a lot more. (She's always sad-tweeted but it becomes especially more prevalent by this point.)>Lily made a patron post about her cat being sick as an explanation for her absence. >Shadow asks multiple times in streams for Lily's name not to be brought up. (Fair enough since most streamers have a no-other-streamer rule.)>Holoen 2 is announced.>Shadow says she doesn't care for the gen much just based off of appearances because she likes cunny (based?) the significance of this is that it's just a normal tweet, implying she doesn't know?>Couple days pass>Infamous Shadow tweet chain>Shadow goes quiet for a while>All of their friends seem to pick "sides": BubblyBunnana unfollows Shadow, but Vivi and Shadow seem closer than ever and Vivi (passively?) asks her discord not to talk about the Fauna shit, since understandably this creates a big stir in the anime ASMRtist community, which has a big shared audience with the vtuber one.>Interestingly Lily doesn't pause Twitch billing, I was still subbed until I got charged this month. Keeping her options open, I guess.>Shadow seems pretty normal content wise aside from talking about how her mother has advanced cancer and she has to take over all of her responsibilities (Twitch, Twitter, Discord, Patreon, all pieces she's mentioned kinda slapped together) so understandably it's putting a lot of load on her (She has four or five kid siblings?) >Aside from this she seems a bit more unhinged than usual, talking about being scared of talking to people and being terrified of trusting people, as well as flipping back and forth between wanting friends and being okay with just her audience. (She's very audience reliant, needy menhara type, needs constant reassurance)>Lily-Fauna doesn't mention a word of it which is unsurprising.Take what you will from the situation, this is only the shit I've gathered from watching them both. I do still like and support both of them so I don't think a /divide/ is necessary whatsoever. They're both great content creators and we'll likely never know what really happened. As for Lily causing a pit in my stomach? I don't know, man. I like her, like I said, but she makes me feel weirdly on edge sometimes. I can't quite relax watching her. Am I just schizo? Maybe.
As for Shadow, she is a very strong person with some big flaws. She's hardworking to a painful extent and takes extreme opinions. (Literal schizo) She's obviously been through a lot but she's a sweet girl and tries her best. She needs to stop airing out her laundry online but I imagine the internet is all she really has.
Is either of them at fault? Probably not. Is this post too long? Yes. Do I know what really happened? Nope. Was reading this a waste of time? For sure.
