Back in the day of phone books there used to be an epidemic of Indians just calling random women to sexually harass them: It's the same thing but even worse since you get to go to their house now.
I used to order delivery from these apps a lot and half the the time they'd completely ignore my instructions to leave the food at the door and leave, but insisted they wanted to hand it directly to me even during covid. They'd mark the order as delivered and then just wait behind my door, sometimes up to 15 minutes. Took me a year to figure out that my name, while manly in my own language, sounds like a beautiful woman's name to Indians. They thought I was a beautiful woman who lives alone and wanted to harass me. The way I found out is that I heard one of them bragging about it in English on the phone over loud speaker at my door.
