At longer ranges it helps somewhat, but doesn't come close to equalizing things, and then at close-medium ranges you're essentially cheating because of how strong it is. Even at long ranges it cheats in some aspects like being able to instantly follow someone if they change direction, using the feeling of slowdown to tell if someone is in front of you rather than your eyes (which is a big deal in Apex because of the horrible muzzle flash, gigantic guns taking up half the screen, etc). To me any sort of automation isn't fair at all, especially when the automation values are tuned to help the casual dude bro, not the 18hr a day players. It turns casuals into normal players and sweats into gods (of certain things).
