A game should be good on its own without using a brand.
The brand should be the special flavor that makes it into a legend.
Maybe they didn't know what they were doing and just made attempts to make something.
Creating an immersive VR world is something that doesn't exist yet and has great potential, but it requires the wealth of a company like META combined with an A+ team like what Steve Jobs had to create the first Iphone.
Of course there are ways around this by using indie thinking combined with a bit of AI.
The issue is that you are in competition with the real world, and people may be intoxicated by too much virtual after Corona and desire something more real.
That's why vtubers were successful.
They gave something that was more real using the virtual world and a new and easier way to access it.
The VR events Hololive had where you were close and could experience having a girlfriend had something special. The variety shows in Cluster were also a fun experience.
An alternative could be to create a form of RPG or MMORPG based on an alternative of the Holo universe to make it into a good game on its own while adding vtubers on top through some special events or items, quests, maybe but this would require the competence to make good games.
The low hanging fruit they could do is to create a form of VR version of their 3D live events people could view in VR.
Even the prerecorded live events they do for their vtubers could be put there to be viewed through VR althought it may need to change the way they record their events and plan them.
But it's already there in a Virtual space that's recorded and viewed through a 2D screen right now.
If they are worried about impacting the in venue live events sales by creating competition they could do something like for movies first released in theaters then online.
First the live event could be viewed in the real location and online in 2D and added a few weeks later as a 3D experience if it's not too much effort.
