Leftist politics is entirely driven by empathy (and people manipulating others empathy)
Empathy is understanding the feelings of another person. People tend to infantilize victims they're empathizing with, which makes them innocent in their eyes, which turns the villain, who is wronging an "innocent child" into a monster(e.g hitler). Why shouldn't you do everything you can to stop The Monster? Making light of, or refusing to denounce The Monster is wrong because of how clearly evil he is (he attacks children).
Then social media and news organizations feed users a steady stream of victim slop because it gets high engagement.
Obviously things are nuanced, but if you refuse to take a step back and look past your emotional empathic response its the path your mind will take.
Emotions are valid, but aren't always right.
