Holos for example will try to push artists that continually draw them to keep them drawing them for more exposure and art to use for thumbnails, some will look at and constantly give validation through stuff like likes to their bigger paypigs via twitter, which will increase their engagement with the talent and their activity on twitter, feeding more into the loop. Indies have to cast the rod at lower forms of this because they can't just throw it out into the ocean, they have to aim for specifics to start the process.
