Of course all those "gura killer" mentions are made by falseflagging holobronies.
But I always wondered, how would we know when someone actually killed gura? Like what is the main criteria?
I think that overtaking gura in sub count is really dumb criteria, because if chuuba has millions of subs, but has constant 3-digit viewers is pretty much dead to me.
We could take a peak amount of viewers during their entire chuuba lifetime. But this criteria has the same flaw - chuuba can have one huge stream in their lifetime, and then recline into nothing.
So, the main criteria would be an average amount of concurrent viewers over some period of time?

The idea that people felt she was a big fish in a small pond must be an honour to her if she's read any of the speculation. We know from her graduation that she's left to pursue new horizons but the timing of her announcement (she technically graduated on August 15 but didn't actually stop making content until August 24) makes her the most nebulous.

She IS a professionally trained Opera singer, though. The only other people with that level of control I can think of are Machita Chima and Ironmouse, making her talent a real rarity.

Definitely more than previous debut. That one thing I can say for sure. Probably 20%-30% more than previous numbers, but could be lower, because they killed hype with their prank on karaoke stream. Also, if it really happening on this friday, Holo's secret event could interfere.

You can take HoloEN as an example - their median views didn't increase during entire year, but HoloEn2 debut had about 30% more viewers than HoloEn1 debut. You just simply cannot judge the growth of entire branch by individual members, it's foolish to assume that they all share the same viewers.

The only downside would be if it became harder to collab with her friends in HoloID, but look who started talking to the NijiEN girls on twitter shortly before Lyrica's graduation.
Now, some of the ones anons think got in had even bigger numbers, but iirc they're "mild fame several years ago with the channel barely growing now", so even then it makes sense to hop over.

To be fair, the same thing can be said about Niji's 3'rd wave, because 1'st and 2'nd were from the same audition pool and can be considered as the same thing. And yes, Lazulight+Obsydia are also success in a way - they were able to gain a decent fanbase without pre-made western fanbase that HoloMyth had for their debut.

To counterpoint, the reason why I brought up all those other factors is to showcase that there were a lot of other things that needs to be considered as to why Council outperformed Myth's debut numbers. One thing, I want to highlight is that Hololive took almost an entire year to debut their next wave so anticipation was high compared to NijEN Wave 3 which will likely be coming in a mere 3-4 months after Obsydia debuted. There's barely any hype because we just got a new NijiEN wave not too long ago.

I agree with the fact that using an individual member as a way to make predictions isn't really smart, BUT I also used their full collabs too (8K full NijiEN collab). Assuming that this is roughly around the maximum current viewers that NijiEN has which accounting for viewer overlap checks out since almost all of them has an average median of <2k except Selen who has around 2.5k. Which means that even if you double their current max viewers, you wouldn't be scraping 20K. Again, getting to 20K is not an easy task. If this was Hololive I would throw all of that analysis away because you know that Holo's JP and International audience would show up. But Nijisanji's main audience (JP) seems to be averse to their international branches. Again though, this is just speculation based on whatever data we have which isn't exactly much since NijiEN is barely half a year old.

Besides the standards for performance between the two isn't the same since they are in different fields. Vtubers are primarily live streamers and the act of live streaming on youtube is what makes up 99% of their content. Nijisanji filling a 3,000 seat stadium for some lame concert doesn't change the fact that Hololive completely destroys their live streaming numbers.

I have thought about that, but it's honestly pretty hard for me to believe that they couldn't find at least one decent guy for NijiEN, especially considering that they grabbed six (6) individuals in total from that same audition and it just so happenned that none were male, that and considering how they did the audition announcement they didn't show any design, made it separate to the wave 3 one, ended it later than that one, and left it for dead last, makes it feel like they weren't even planning on debuting males on NijiEN originally.

Part of me feel kind of relieved. I watched the graduation vods and felt kind of sad cuz I don't like seeing cute chuuba's cry.
But it's more bittersweet because they graduate to move into the next step of their life.
