He knows his limits, and it generally feels like he's on top of any situation he's thrown into - even if he can't beat major villains he's consistently good at strategising, stalling for time, and limiting the damage to civilians until one of the big guns can arrive. And he retains some minor niches over the rest of the main cast, like his superhuman hearing or the Clothes Beam or being disproportionately fast for his power level.
He prefers living an ascetic life in a remote location, but will happily come down to the city if you invited him to a party or need a favour from him.
Also he has a cool cape.
