She had to have graduated college with a 4-year degree to qualify as an English teacher in Japan, so if she graduated in 2018 that would make her 22 in that year and 30 this year. I suppose she could also be 29 if she only got to Japan in 2019 (she had to have been there already before 2020 or she wouldn't have gotten in with the covid lockdown)
