>>109240466A lot of it is down to timing. When Jelly put out her Minecraft tweets, other members like Tenma received early access to Nioh 3, in fact they got themselves a major sponsor in the form of Koei Tecmo who also promoted Tenma’s new outfit. Not to mention that Phase was still preparing for their convention which is 4 months away, and no doubt had a lot of money invested into it. But because the tweets went well outside Phase’s audience, it only took one autist called Softendo to spam their sponsors, Offkai, and even the convention venue with Jelly’s tweets to make the company look bad and “oh my god you want to associate with THIS brand?”
Now in any other situation the company probably could have just silently bonked her and moved on with it. And this is just speculation from here on out, but because of how out of character their announcement was, it sounds like either their sponsors or the venue’s owners became uncomfortable with these statements and potentially associating with the radical elements of the fandom, and they told Fishman to either address it or else they would no longer conduct business with Phase. These deals and the potential ensuing business connections were probably so huge that the company likely agreed so that everyone would benefit later on instead of burning all these bridges over one talent. It’s not like they’re a small corpo that’s trying to break even, they’ve grown a fair amount to where they’re in the green and also have staff to take care of. But the dumbest parts of the fandom and now dramatubers stepped in and made a bad situation even worse to where so many talents are impacted.
