I thought it was because they had to get special permissions and give polish every voice actor's buttocks (with special butt shine polish) to get permissions. So they go with the English VA because they don't really care if you play the game.

Chinese VAs don’t hold a candle to seiyuus (and gacha games have stacked rosters of them) plus they are so anime inspired that you should play them in JP. Plus not all gachas are Chinese. There’s also Japanese and Korean.

Xenoblade is best enjoyed in EN, it's not the same if you don't get blasted with IT'S REYN TIME with a thick accent
Also Dunban sounds way better in EN, Vegeta doesn't really fit him

Anything is fine as long as its not in English. Chinese, French, German, I don't care. English voice acting for anime style games is always dogshit. Its almost like they make it intentionally bad on purpose.
