Avril wasn't a particularly good singer when she recorded the original and it's autotuned to shit (yet still a good song), so being rough around the edges fits the vibe 100%. Mediocre singers angsting about trivial shit was the whole aesthetic of 2000s punk, it's fun.

It's exorbitantly expensive to cover a song owned by like 5 different american record labels while the actual artists are still living off the residuals. Either Doki paid out the ass for this or Avril herself, being a huge fucking weeb, pulled some strings.
