If you just try to do the same type of teaching just with the degree of separation that comes with not being physically present, then yes, teaching will suffer. You need to adjust your teaching concepts to the new possibilities and restrictions that are inherent remote classes. If done properly, the quality should be roughly the same or possibly even better than in-person classes.
If they think they can help the students learn by giving the teachers VTuber avatars, let them try. If it fails, they can still revert to either fleshtubers or sending their children to in-person cram schools. You will never know if you don't try.
