People who never played the game like to say it’s pro-communism propaganda, but the game has its most harsh criticism towards that side of the political spectrum. The central figure of the far left is a loser who never got over the fact that he and his people lost AFTER he deserted them, as opposed to the central figure of the far right who’s by all sane accounts, is a hero (it’s no coincidence that they’re both black men in a French inspired world either).
Socialism isn’t really addressing in the game because saying you’re a socialist in western Europe has the same connotations as an American saying they’re a liberal
