im not a vtuber fan but i remember a drama about the english speaking vtuber "sinder"
she is live right now even though the thing seemed very serious

Because vtubing is for the most part a solo-job and not amount of bridge burning can prevent you from pressing the "Go Live" button, she was able to comeback
Lost some viewership tho, but not enough to kill her career
