That's a very drastic action for it to be just licensing issue considering how many songs they made for Niji. Most likely Anycolor failed to pay them up and they decided to pull the plug. They could even sue them for that but I guess this is the resulting settlement

Hard to say because most Holos do sing mainstream radio friendly JP songs like Chanmina but Bae did a live cover of her song in a 3D live and nothng happen to it. Only Kisaragi Ren? of VSPO privated her cover but the rest is Niji.

While it might be lucrative as far as JP goes it was never heavily pushed outside of the random b2 stream, most of anything that was mainland china in terms of collabs was pretty much EN only and even more so locked to just luxiem. Since you also need to understand they made the partnership with bilibili for virtuareal after they cancelled the contract with CAPSULE Inc who were running the "Nijisanji" branded shanghai branch then weeks later announced the partnership. If anything I would say its the game collabs that they benefited from the most as holo could no longer get them at the time.

Yeah but at the same time there's other ways to monetize a region outside of dedicated streams. Just look at event/merch sales for taiwanese Holo merch. That sushiro gura collab for example.
