>>109902197As others have said, most people have moved elsewhere, like e*ght and t*wer, as well as other more secluded places like discords.
I think VAllure wanted to be EN's emoechi, but didn't really succeed. It didn't fail either, at least not yet, but I wonder what will happen when Investor-san's money inevitably runs dry.
For instance, I'm supposed to be in the target demographics (male, straight but single and weird, into vtubers and cute girls and chuuni RP, somewhat of a coomer, and I can pay for any of these things if I want) and I'm not subbed to any of them. I was at first (in 2024) but they lost me along the way.
I like the characters and I like some of the girls, but I dislike the company's... artistic direction, or lack thereof, for lack of a better word.
To start with, the models were designed by somebody who doesn't understand anime aesthetics and also commissioned by somebody who doesn't understand anime aesthetics, and that's one of VAllure's original sins.
As far as the girls go, they range from a literal wh*re who barely knew what vtubing was, to a NEET fujoshi who would have felt more at ease in a Brave-owned corpo, and everything in between. And that's the second big problem, a corpo like this is supposed to walk a VERY fine line between all the extremes, but in their case this was left entirely to the streamer. I'm not talking about rules, but direction. (Rules too, in some cases. A candle that burns too brightly will burn out sooner, which is exactly what happened in one case)
Third issue I personally have (but that's just me) is with the professionally produced ASMR on Patreon. They feel very fake. There's a reason I'm into live streaming: even when the girl is clearly putting on a character, she's still doing improv with chat and with the game or topic at hand, which I enjoy more than acting off a script. Otherwise I'd just watch anime. Again, not a fault of the girls (they mostly work hard) but of the company direction.
I'm also restricted on which ones I can watch live, by timezone and circumstances, so my palette was limited to begin with.
Another thing that probably cannot be helped, but affected VAllure more than other corpos, is that the more unseiso quirks you let through, the more you alienate those viewers who are not into it. This is why Holo, the most restrictive environment (they can't even show ungloved hands now) also has the most viewers. For example, I like Stronny's personality, but I'm turned off by burping. And so on.
Hope this helps. You did ask for honest and unfiltered.
