If Asian MMOs lack anything it's that sometimes their worldbuilding is shallow, or it's just text and not visually apparent. It's a bit unfair to compare but seeing someone replay Skyrim almost 15 years after the game came out you see the flaws in the game but the strengths really help it, which is that Elder Scrolls has such a "lived in world" and strikes a great balance between conventional fantasy with enough weird stuff to make it unique.
Crimson Desert feels kind of generic in the "You are John Badass of House Badass. Kind of like a Witcher but more of a normal dude."
