>>11064351>if you get pushed by the algo, and people DON'T click and watch your videos in any way, it leads the algo to 'downrank' you in algo priority. That is a thing but unconnected to subs, and it works in the opposite direction you are describing
Scenario 1
>channel makes a video, it gets recommended to lots of people including their subscribers.>lots of people click it>other videos from the same channel and similar videos from connected channels get recommended to the same people that engagedScenario 2
>channel makes a video, it gets recommended to lots of people including their subscribers.>not a lot of people click on it>other videos from the same channel don't get recommended to the same people this one was recommended, similar videos from connected channels don't get recommended to the same people The thing is: it is not *the channel* that gets hit, but the video. If you make a video right after that get great engagement the algo recommends other similar videos just the same.
Number of subs only factor positively in this case:
>lots of subs, lots of engagement = lots recommends>lots of subs, little engagement = fewer recommends>small # of subs, lots of engagement = lots recommends (proportional to the subs)>small # of subs, little engagement = fewer recommends (proportional to the subs)There is no downside to have a lot subs, the algo factor not the proportion of engagement to subs, but video by video, the total engagement
