>>11303675To Kiara, it always was kayfabe. Mori loves roleplaying and she and Kiara obviously concocted this "how about we have some tsundere lore yuri ship" thing prior to debut. It seems like a funny idea on paper and it would work in an anime for example, so they both just went with it. They weren't really ready for the fact that it would just turn awkward because they were real people trying to perform this relationship.
But Kiara and Mori do have a relationship, just one of two friends. For both of them, having a genmate friend in Japan who is also in Hololive was really beneficial. Moreso for Mori because of the language barrier preventing her from bonding with JP girls (not an issue for Kiara). But Kiara also seems to not understand that Mori is just bad at acting "tsundere" and has legitimately become hurt at times from Mori playing up the shtick (look at the post-vacation recap stream where she legitimately hurt Kiara's feelings). Kiara with her penchant for self-doubt construes everything in the most negative way possible, so she just took it as "I guess Mori doesn't really like me as much as I like her." Mori doesn't understand how human beings work so she just finds the whole relationship exhausting because of the keyfabe layer and clearly prefers the more organic, less affected relationship she has with the other EN girls. Which is why she's been called out for "acting different around Kiara" than the other girls.
The ironic thing is that this whole failed anime trope has turned into a completely different anime trope: misunderstandings rendering a normal human relationship impossible.
