I like the Holostar I even occasionally watch a few of them (Roberu,Temma,Astel,Oga) but there is no saving them, they were already introduced in a way that keeps them separate from the girls, Cover fans like the idol experience and a large chunk of them are JP that don't want males or EN that are mimicking JP behavior and don't want males.

Where are you getting this from? Other than Calli, EN has largely shown no interest in collabing with stars or did but thought “people would be upset” (Amelia). We don’t have a read on Council yet beyond Bae liking Roberu.

JP is almost entirely a non-starter outside of Fubuki/Matsuri/Chico/Robocco. The majority of the ones you listed don’t follow a single Star on Twitter, with many outright stating they’d never interact because “someone would get jealous” like Subaru.

The tide looked like it was turning when Sora showed up in Roberu’s Christmas stream, but that was almost a year ago and there’s been zero progress beyond Arcstars, which hasn’t happened since August. If anything, things have gotten worse with Korone showing concern that there might be issues with her collabing with Sonic the hedgehog vtuber due to being a male. I doubt things will change anytime soon. If Kaoru was still around, we’d probably at least get Watame involved with Stars, and he’d show up at Coco’s graduation.

All in all they need a really big event involving everyone so they can just demolish the wall between them completely, atleast to the point where both sides acknowledge each other and dont try to skirt at avoiding mentioning each others names.

for Korone, that isn't unexpected. Okayu and her both followed him on Twitter after there was some art of Korone and Oga playing retro games not terrible long after Tri-Nero's debut but Korone unfollowed him not too long after that. Okayu still follows him oddly though.

Anon, Niji couldn't even find 1 (one) male they were willing to take a flyer on through 2 waves of audition. The English male talent pool is almost non-existant.

I thought Niji shows what models are going to exist in the new gen before they open auditions. So if they don't reveal a male character, they're not going to hire a male talent for that wave.
Don't know how Hololive works, do they keep their models secret until the talents are hired? So even though we got 5 in a gen they may have had other character concepts on the shelf that we never see.

Both. Shortly after her debut when someone asked her she said that she would accept a Holostar collab if they invited her first.
But recently someone superchatted "would you like to play with someone from holostars?" and she only answered with something like "not now" so it's a bit vague.

I think the first response is still true because Botan clearly doesn't mind playing with guys but at the same time I doubt any of the Holostars will ever ask her.

The first auditiom was from where both Lazulight and Obsydia came, the second was for Ethyria which was advertised as the next wave and a female only one and the third was the male audition that was advertised as males only and the last to arrived, so we haven't even seen the results of that one yet.
