the thing about superchats in general that baffles me is how much they took off for hololive. I would figure its obvious from youtube's history that any in house features in regards to money would fuck over the content creator while lining their own pockets.

Like if you need the message to appear just integrate something like streamlabs donations where it can trigger an on-screen message unique to the content creator.

I don't know why people don't consider membership and most importantly ad revenue. Even at the lower end of the scale all of the holos have millions of views. That's quite a bit of money, though obviously we have no idea what the breakdown on merch, memberships, and ad revenue is with regard to what the girls take home.

Youtube hosts and archives videos. The costs associated with streaming to a hololive sized audience would be enormous.

Coco is still really important because she is one of the easiests streamers to transition to when learning Japanese as an EOP. There is only a few million Japanese Otaku, international growth is good to not bottom out the market.
She and Watame (and a few others) speak really simple Japanese and have good stream times for westeners.

They literally cannes the entire Chinese market over her. Reddit dragon is a valuable asset.
