>>11345322Not much different, to be honest. Most numberfags here don't know much about how business works, and it shows. If you think you need 1m subscribers to make money in vtubing, you don't know much about money.
By November 2020 it's too late for Niji to beat Hololive in the west. Debuting Wave 1 a bit earlier and spending a bit more time hyping them would have been better, but it wouldn't change much.
All things considered, Lazulight ended up being more successful than most people predicted. People were unironically saying that they'd struggle to reach 50k subs within their first year, and that they'd only have like 100-300 live viewers.
Nijisanji is a clear 2nd place in this industry globally, but that's not that bad if they can keep it. Most industries can support more than one company. McDonalds isn't the only chain restaurant, Disney isn't the only live action studio, EA isn't the only game company, etc. VTubing is obviously much smaller than those other industries, but it's big enough to support more than a few agencies, and NijiEN being the 2nd biggest in the west would be enough for that branch to be a success. VShojo is more pressing competition than HoloEN, but VShojo operates on a different platform and appeals to a somewhat different audience (albeit one with significant overlap).
