Whether it's compatible with their needs would be the question. They may also just want to keep everything in-house and so chose not to rent.
It really just depends on how much it's worth to them to have 3D ENs -- a plane ticket to/from Japan and a multi-night stay at a hotel in Tokyo (or do they intend to have them shack up at the other Holo's homes?) might cost more in the long run than setting up satellite studios in Indonesia, Australia, USA, Germany, etc, particularly if you then turn around and rent time to others from those studios when not using them for your own productions.
