Brand tubers have been a thing in Japan ever since vtubing was a thing. One of the first vtubers I watched was Nebase Cocoro who is a shill for a fucking pharmaceutical company. So nothing's gonna fucking change.

My take on the final yab is that if the brandtubers aren't all that globohomo from the start, they're inevitably going to gradually become utterly and unbearably cringe and woke, making the then less popular vtubers we have now look evil and outdated to the mass normies, killing the entire thing.

Brands will stick to animated mascots because of the control. You can’t doxx an animation and get a massive lawsuit on your hands like you can with a real woman. Places like this and competitors will dig up their PL which will cause many woke wars. It’s just a current fad for brands with links to anime jumping on it. It will fade.

People here have a limited understanding of brand vtubers and make a shitload of unfounded assumptions like all of them will be females, all of them will be anime-style, all of them will be humanoid, and all of them will be streamers forming parasocial relationships with a live audience. They won't all be like the CR girl, many of them will be mascots using short, heavily edited videos that are easily accessible to normalfags. It won't be much different from cereal mascots like Tony the Tiger, they just will be promoting their brand to a wider demographics than little kids.

The achilles heel of brand tubers is the same as Kizuna Ai, people will check out when the VA changes and the brand tuber will fade to irrelevance with the loss of their core audience. If they go the route of replacing characters with voice actors it's a loss of valuable branding.

Companies always had mascots. Tony the Tier, Ronald McDonald, Michelin Man, etc. It makes absolute sense for them to use vtubers as mascots of the 20's.
