Lanterns look pretty and for places where they don't fit jackolanters under carpet or trapdoors do the work. I'd honestly wouldn't mind torches if they looked more like torches and less like matches, but that could probably be fixed with a resource pack.

The only thing I could think of is using MCA Selector to save settlements and reset everything else. If the map >>11534906 posted is any accurate, there's a lot of space in between some of these settlements that are unclaimed. Properly defining areas and borders like the map would be a lot easier to select than buildings specifically. Even then, I'm not sure if the OP wants to have the trouble. If not, pre generating shit after the current border is another option...

It's because the minecraft GUI changes when you're inside of a portal, it's the same reason you can't see the menu when pressing Esc either
The only simple way to get around this is to make teleportation instantaneous like it is in creative mode

Can't you put the same sprite of Sana's that's used on the nether roof to mark the way to her portal?
If that pixel art is too big for how many blocks you have I recommend picking a game that has even smaller pixel art like world flipper and copy a character from there, changing the colors
Fuck it if you want to make good pixel art really just steal something and change the color, it's a different skill than drawing

seems easiest and there shouldnt be too much trouble updating (considering new biome blending and vertical biomes)
for new biomes in 1.18-19 we can just venture beyond this area, its not that large desu esp with portals
wrt plugins lagging behind the update i think going without the plugins for a bit will be a good opportunity to see which plugins if any might be dragging down the tps
