Youtube takes 30%, then cover takes 50% of what's left. Matsuri's income most likely puts her in Japan's 33% tax bracket. There's an additional 2.1% national surtax as well as a 10% local one, for a total income tax rate of 45.1%.
So of that $4,500, Matsuri took home only 19.215% of it, or about $865.
Besides her base salary from Cover, Matsuri makes some additional money from memberships and merch sales. We don't know how much Cover takes from those, but it's probably 50% for memberships, and somewhat higher than 50% for merch sales to cover the costs of production.
If that additional income is enough to push her up into the next tax bracket of 40%, then of the $4,500 Matsuri received in superchat last week, she only took home 16.765% of it, or about $754.
My point is, unless she is getting tens of thousands of dollars in superchats every week, I wouldn't use those numbers to determine how well a holo is doing financially.
