>>11660425It's a great model but it takes getting used to after coco because it's just so fucking different. I do wonder if tracking can actually enter uncanny valley territory potentially but I don't think it really does here.
The effect is I'd say sort of like, if you were around in the 90s video games often had high poly 3D renders of what the chars/worlds were supposed to look like, either as the cover art or in prerendered cutscenes etc. The actual 3D in the game looked nothing like that ideal. We're used to 2D rigs, specifically Holo/Niji rigs, looking pretty stiff and often not even tracking the mouth right and are just fine with that. When I very-first started watching chuubas the stiffness bothered me a fair bit as I thought it just looked shitty and cheap but somehow, I just got used to it. Now Kson's rig looks much more like how the idealized concept of live2d was supposed to go. We're not used to it. It's like a 90s game actually looked like its high-quality renders.
This isn't a bad thing, I hope it sets a precedent for companies to actually put some fucking effort in lest coco just put everyone else to shame demonstrating how fucking shitty and shoestring their comms really are.
