I blame that on Pomu and Pomufags. She clearly positioned herself as an alternative to holoEN fans that would be looking for something other than Myth, and they did the legwork to spread the idea.

Selen is the exception, she clearly positioned herself to catch the EN Nijisanji fanbase (however small that may be) and her standing is much better than all other girls in her branch.

I wouldn't say completely meaningless, but the numbers should definitely be taken with a grain of salt and really can't be compared to YT numbers in a 1:1, even more so due to ccv culling on YT.
For example, if they're able to hold on to a significant amount of the post-raid numbers for a long period of time, that's something that should be noted.

They're just not used to the dirty holonigger strategy of view funneling and box pushing and forgot that the EN audience on youtube works in that way due to hololive's influence there. NijiJP has a lot of streamers but it still works since they don't have any strong overlaps with each other. Holos get exposed as midgets when they do multi-POV events while Kuzuha can stream together with 100 different people and get his usual numbers.

Well, in the case of AzurLane, I approve of the ripoff because kancolle devs were too xenophobic/dumb to export the game overseas. For the longest time I know may people wants to give it a try, but the fact that ther was no global version or official translation turned them off. It always happens.
Unless the streamers were in the same game and it's a different POV, raids always lead to an immediate spike when the first stream ends, then people pack and leave because they came for the first stream and don't care about whoever they're raiding, just wanted to watch till the end.
Keeping 10% of a raid is usually really good.

Since disregarding whatever the streamer is doing or how good they're doing, the peaks could always be distorted. It's just dumb.
An Holo ID can have a magical peak of 10k (if YT had raids) while having a normal stream. That's unusual, and very often just unfair

It affects peaks and is more forceful than just some words from the streamer recommending their viewers to check out someone else's stream. Imagine if Matsuri is just having a stream of 5k viewers then its suddenly 20k cause Suisei redirected her viewers into her stream. Or hell, just imagine if its some event or official stuff in Hololive, when you have people like Pekora and Miko, who are often streaming before and end their streams right when that event starts, and now they are redirecting all the viewers they gathered into said stream.

Yagoo seems like a very conservative guy based on his comments. They should, but if you insist on including Twitch, it must be noted that comparing Twitch to YT is almost certainly not a 1:1, especially not since the December update! I actually think Twitch data is GOOD, but it should be tracked seperate from YT numbers due to the difference in how the platforms count numbers and the existence of raids. IMO the most valuable thing would be to keep track of TRENDS in Twitch chubba numbers, as that's where the real meat is in the long run.

Isn't that the whole point of that hero? To prevent the ratting/turtle fests? Honestly I'm baffled how Apex got so popular. It's like 50% looting, 40% trying to avoid fights so you can third party someone, 10% actual action. Fortnite has similar issues but it targets a younger demographic

apex isn't really that popular outside of japan, it's about or less popular than a few other fps, without even talking about other online game giants like lol

it's only in japan that for some reason the game dumpsters everything else, and chuubas are primarily a japanese thing, so apex it is. maybe it's just babby's first high production battle royale for the japanese

Well yes, but it turns out people actually like to turtle and introducing a hero that invalidates your entire strat with a single push of a button is kinda not fun to play against.

It's not battle royale popularity in japan though, it just seems to be Apex. You don't see a bunch of jp players getting big numbers playing Fortnite, even though outside of Japan, Apex and Fortnite get similar enough numbers. In Japan it's Apex or die, it looks like.

Yep, but for an idiosyncrasy: live-ranking only stops updating the streams that started before midnight after 1AM JST.

That is never a problem and sometimes it only brings up the streams that started between 11PM JST and midnight after 12h30 or something (because yeah, they're retarded) so except when it would alter the very top of the list it is advisable to wait until 1AM JST.

So far only the "daltonism stream" risked getting bumped by something happening after midnight but, luckily, it didn't.
