You let Hololive define the genre as it began its shift towards being way more idol-like as an already idol-ish vtubre company.
Also, oshi as a term stopped being used for just idolshit a long ass time ago. Idol culture is big enough for certain things in it to escape its gravity and "break containment" to become normalfag memes. Oshi is one of those.
