As far as collabs goes, people were really avoiding Hololive back then. People like Tamaki just straight up didn't mention Coco anymore even after the incident. Gatchman when he tried to talk about Coco got a soft warning from his viewers to stop talking about it but he still talked about Coco's announcement. Hololive going insular was the best thing that they have ever done though. It built up the image that they have now

jesas people. Assuming Kiara is a rational and consistent person, there's no reason to suspect hololive blocked a collab she wanted. If they had, she would have just said they did like she has before. Instead this time she was cagey as fuck, explicitly saying she wouldn't say who blocked it or even who it might have been with since she's at least intelligent enough to realize that shitting on people you want things from doesn't help you get them to do those things. Of course there's lots of reasons that many people don't want to admit that companies or people who turn down collabs with hololive or Kiara in particular.

Personally, I just find it unlikely for all, or majority of those Holo Western fans to not be aware of Niji in the slightest. On almost every social media platform - this board, /jp/, Reddit, Twitter, Youtube comment sections, FB - both Niji and Holo are mentioned. Niji's ads were plastered over Holo's streams for a while, too. Where do those "many Westerners" usually visit that they don't even know about Niji? Just because someone doesn't watch Niji doesn't mean they don't know about Niji as well. I, for example, gave all NijiEN 3 streams each after their debuts (pretty much the 3 episode rule) and only Selen caught my interest. Thus, I mainly watch Holo (plus a few of Selen's streams here and there), but I'm well aware of Niji's existence - I'm just not interested.

Too late. By the time it was obvious Hololive had already laid the groundwork for their global audience. Even now NijiEN doesn’t really have the firepower to break into the algorithm that would require the numbers only Kuzeha and a couple other JPs could bring. But Hololive has a fucking death grip on the clipping ecosystem it would take a lot of effort and luck to break it now. KR clippers get more views on Gura clips than NijiEN gets on their streams.

The difference is that playism dug their own grave even further by letting the different pr reps all try and do damage control with no coordinated script while Asus just went full radio silent while they cleaned up shop internally.

What’s strange is Gura has excellent pronunciation of both JP and KR despite not speaking basically any of either language. Her galaxy Cover is full of comments complimenting her KR and how she brought her own take to the song. Her singing is a great entry point and her being a cute brat translates easily. I don't know. Most recently, IRyStocrats outspammed Chink bots in her chat during the JP-EN 'Mongus collab, even with IRyS chat being as defenseless as it could be (no mod, no sub-only mode, not even slow mode). They were so effective that even IRyS herself didn't notice that there were bot spams to begin with (was pretty confused why chat were spamming hearts). Eventually, the Chink bots fucked off to other channels. When some guy akasupa her with an explanation at the end, IRyStocrats earned a "Good job IRyStocrats, I love you" from IRyS. I'm pretty sure many other Holos' fans can, and did do the same thing too.
Chat would be unusable nonetheless, but at least it had a good vibe to it and ended up with everyone but Chinks being happy.

The early clipping environment surrounding Niji was actually pretty hostile since there was a lot more of that "they're taking (my oshi) out of context" volatility surrounding it, and that narrative and reaction playing out caused the clipping community to largely stay more at arm's length from Niji content as a result. There was never any kind of attempt at correcting the image or trying to steer it or manage it, since I think largely nobody saw clippers as anything more than leeching off of the talents and not as being a net positive that can bring new viewers and audiences.

It's the whole reason that Hololive clipping took off with China and the west as a result. When it turned out to be both less drama-filled or hostile and more lucrative, the whole thing just snowballed from there.

Since Hololive also has a KR fanbase, it wouldn't surprise me if Cover hires someone fluent in KR in ID3. I mean, Indonesia is filled with bi/trilingual people, finding someone who can speak ID, EN, JP and KR might not be that hard anyway. HoloID might not be as big as HoloEN but they are still part of Hololive brand so it would be a good opportunity to test out KR market.

The Hololive clipping ecosystem is pretty much already taken up by the long standing standbys like Sushi. This guy was probably just finding a niche despite wanting to be a Hololive clipper. Seems like he wanted to be a Fauna clipper but she hasn't had a ton of memeable moments. I compare it to this channel who popped up as an IRyS clipper.

Honestly, what becomes popular for clippers/translators in Korea has always been extremely oddball like this to a degree. I remember when Conan O'Brien of all people got a huge Korean following to the point where he flew out there and did an entire miniseries about it.

I feel like Vshojo being on Twitch has loads of opportunities to grow bigger. Like, Twitch has some of the biggest streamers on Earth and their audience ranges from 50-100k. If Vshojo can net a collab with any of these, they can i cline much higher in the West. There are already viewers who only know Vshojo and not Hololive.

True. More than that: I can assume most Twitch love streaming watchers are exclusive to Twitch and won’t overlap with YouTube livestream watchers.

Yep, that's why I hope Vshojo will host a Minecraft event where Vshojo can invite Dream crew, OTV and maybe other big Twitch streamers to play together in some sort of Hunger Game style tournament. This will definitely take the top spot and incline the group even further.
