While Calli isn't much better because her style of hip-hop is also a little out of synch, it does have stronger tethers since the same stylistic influences she draws upon are still felt in contemporary pop. The same just isn't true for Irys though.
Combine that with the fact that Irys's voice is very average and her music is just slightly forgettable.
Marketing her as the EN vsinger only to push JP songs was also a mistake. NijiEN's approach of at least making the lyrics English (even if DCL is literally just idol pop) at least makes it slightly more accessible.
But without a relevant sound, particularly stand out performances or linguistic comprehensibility, you just filter so many potential listeners.
Oh well that and the concept is super fucking chunni to a degree that undershoots Hololive's average viewer
