it only caught on because twitch was paying better than yt and low view count allows and encourages chat interaction between the streamer and audience.
Once you have 10k+ numbers, interacting with chat on a conversational level is impossible, so the only advantage of streaming goes to shit and you have basically a long ass lets play video that is not edited and you can't skip ahead of the boring parts
Then there is also the matter of time, during the hight of the meme flu most people were at home and could burn 1.4h watching a stream of a game by their favorite chuba, but now most people got back to work and work hard to recoup their losses, they don't have the time to watch a stream because they are probably working when the stream is live, and they won't watch the VoD because once they are home, they have better things to do than to watch it
This is also why we have so fucking many clipfag channels, because watching 4 10min clips while you are browsing social media/yt front page once you get home in your couch is much, much less commitment than watching the whole VoD
Gura will never get the full on viewer count that other non streaming 3M channels have on yt
