In the end, the private dictatorship model of governing artistic expression just isn't appealing, as all true art is controversial. That doesn't mean all controversial things are true art (ie a piece of shit smeared all over a canvas), just that controversy must be allowed and tolerated without exception in order for true art to flourish.
