>>12236915nta, but I've seen enough 2views who I think are more "skilled" than some of the vtubers in big corporations, and enough "big" vtubers who aren't really all that remarkable (and are probably more carried by brand power than anything, and if the former talented 2views had the same company buff to them, they would wipe the floor with) to really think that it's really all just that simple "hurrdurr, popularity equals quality, if you're big that must mean you are skilled, if you're small that must mean you're ngmi shit" (I'm oversimplifying of course to drive the point across). But of course, I'll readily admit that this is just my subjective personal opinion of them.
I mean, you can see this happening on this very board. Anons regularly make fun of ngmi 2views and say their low viewcount is somehow indicative of their quality (usually to make some kind of tribalist circular logic, for example puffing up their favorite brand Hololive, as if to argue that them being the biggest vtubers must obviously mean they are also the best vtubers, after all why wouldn't they be the biggest if they weren't the best? q.e.d.), but as soon as those very same ngmi 2views pass the Hololive audition and debut with the blue triangle next to their name, those very same anons fall over themselves to proclaim them the best thing since sliced bread. While the streamers themselves are actually not really doing anything different from before, same behavior, same content, the only change is that now they get the big brand buff of approval.
