Games. She's unironically, not even "for a woman", good at games, and that goes beyond her esports-forged FPS skills, but all across the board, also helped by her being pretty fucking smart and figuring shit out on the fly, enough to make even puzzles like "Baba is You" actually watchable on stream. To top it off, she always has a nice selection of games, picking up whatever she thinks would be good and rolling with it, getting permissions through whatever means she has. The downside is that as an actual seasoned gamer, she's not going to play your childhood's favorite game because she did it offstream before.
Personality.
- She's among the chillest Hololive girls, you'll always find her having fun with whatever she's doing on stream, readily engaging with the chat if the game allows it.
- She's always ready to show off her cool side, even moreso in front of other girls, especially Lamy, and damn is she good at that, this lion is one hell of a smooth operator. Basically fearless in horror games, yet to see her in VR ones with Lamy grabbing her randomly or whatever to boost the effect.
https://files.catbox.moe/9qwg57.webm- She meshes really well with basically any other holo in collabs, she might take shots at "the damn riajus" at her streams, but she can hit it off in a collab with any partner like they knew each other for years, pointing to a lot of experience handling all sorts of people on her side(Okayu, Korone, Rushia, any collab really).
- She is a gamer through and through, and despite the fact that she is restricted by hololive standards now, she will still take some lighthearted and hilarious shots at others, her banter is really fun (ex. Towa).
- She has a cute side to her, as she started doing her job at Hololive basically as a variety streamer, but slowly through lots of affection from viewers and other holos warmed up to some of the more fanservice-y stuff like singing and taking part in idol stuff. Seeing any vulnerability from her is very rare and very impactful, up to this point we've only heard about her crying once from a single mention on her stream and a mention on Lamy's member stream, and that's half a year into her holo career that had it's fair share of reasons to cry. She also goes out of her way to do things for others, prime example would be the famous clip of her and a deaf viewer, or all the little stuff she makes in minecraft for others, like the puzzle quest for Haato or potions for everyone pre-update.
- Last but not least, while we have a large spectrum of menheras in Hololive, Botan is among the healthiest and most normal, as much as an actual female gamer can be considered normal. She was the backbone of gen 5 during their hardest time, she takes care of her body by going to the gym, to the pool, taking walks, has a sleep schedule among the least-fucked among the talents, has the financial stability of still having ongoing deals from her previous places and new sponsorships as a holo. Basically, she has her shit together to an extent you'd rarely see on the imageboards, if ever, and as such, you can just tune in and have fun, knowing that your oshi won't fucking forget how to open her apartment's door and die there, or have long autistic outbursts on her roommate twitter (Botan's roommate twitter is for posting her cats with few exceptions). She basically reached her perfect job and is saviorfagging the other girls herself, as there is no shortage of girl who'd want her help and attention there.
It's also worth mentioning that she's a very "my pace" kind of person, and does put her chat in their place if need be, but they're generally a well-behaved bunch. Her handling of Russian infestation is an extension of that - she's sure to read and MTL+TTS the donations, but the rules are there in all three languages and breaking them is punishable regardless of your country, she won't let people go ahead with memes she doesn't understand, and will tell them straight to their face if she wants something to stop. That means you'll have a harder time trying to get her to do something you want, but also nobody can really derail the streams into whatever direction they would want to, so, if you like her tastes, you'll have a good time.
As much as some people like the tri poloski/adidas memes, Botan's personality is unironically very fitting for the Russian audience, as being down-to-earth, stoic and quick-witted/resourceful are highly valuable here both in men and women. The fact that she doesn't really lean on the "idol" part of her identity and her sense of humor also work really well.
