Watchalongs depend entirely on the chuuba. Usually they get shitty numbers, but I've seen normal numbers, and even buffed numbers before, so dismissing them or even weighting them differently wouldn't be right, imo.

Nah, I'm not that sure about council since I don't go there as much as I used to before /vt/ but Ina and Ame were always pretty well liked. Gura was more mixed over there but had her fans (especially when she sang). Really they only hated on Mori and Kiara. Really not that different from here to be honest.

I think it was actually council that did that. IRyS open up the idea but council debut took it to the next level. It is funny to me because this feels like Japan's history. The trade with the Portuguese caused their government to lock down the country. But then the Americans came and forced Japan to open. The parallelism is quite uncanny.

I don't like that she just did songs with different musical arrangements. There's a ton of bardcore stuff out there where they rework the lyrics in a medieval/renaissance style that would have been better, like Pumped Up Kicks and Fortunate Son.

What Hololive is doing now with Korea is kind of similar to how they went viral in "the west" with english speakers. Dripping content and building up enthusiasm until they finally release a branch and the whole thing blows up. There has been a noticeable increase of Korean interest in Hololive and now they have Korean more Korean speakers in EN along with Korean songs sung in karaoke and the latest ID/Mori cover. I still don't think they will actually release a Korean branch but it does seem like a similar situation to me.

NijiKR hasn't exactly done well and Korea seems averse to japanese content for the most part (obviously a generalization but you know what I mean). That might be why they are spearheading the Korea pandering with EN and ID and keeping JP out of it for the most part.

Dude.
