Holy fuck, the Boogey Voxx songs are GREAT. Getting chills with Crown right now, goddamn. Would love to listen to Mori working with them again in the future.
They just sound fantastic, musically, I really appreciate it. In terms of lyrics, I really like how they fit in this continuity of sorts, as a sequel to end of a life, right? The new page being opened after the bittersweet closing of a chapter, and the richer instrumentation helps in selling this image more than if it was just the positive lyrics doing all of the heavy lifting. It makes it really feel like "exploring new things", instead of just "anyway, enough about sadposting". Them being collabs also push the theme of new bridges being built, getting over the loss of the life she shouldn't miss, but does.
End of a life is still my favorite of hers, but these are great followups, even if not explicitly intended as such.
It's also a softer reinforcement of Off With Heir Heads, in a way. It makes sense to be reluctant to release end of a life after that. Following up "welcome to the mountaintop, do your best to reach my level, bitch" with "the mountaintop sure is lonely" can very easily be used to tear you down, but following it up with such colorful songs, following up the melancholic nostalgia with "Now I'll shout 'I'm happy'", is powerful stuff.
Sorry for the blog, your oshi is great.
